Veterans Freedom March – Event By-Laws

Event Date: October 24, 2026   •   Scope: National

Article I – Name

The name of this action shall be Veterans Freedom March (“the March”).

Article II – Nature and Scope

Section 2.1 – Single-Event Action

Veterans Freedom March is a one-time, national civic action organized for peaceful assembly and advocacy on behalf of veterans.

The March is not:

  • A nonprofit corporation
  • A political party or campaign
  • A 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), or tax-exempt entity

These by-laws apply only to the planning, execution, and immediate wrap-up of the event.

Article III – Mission and Focus

Section 3.1 – Mission

The mission of the Veterans Freedom March is to unite veterans and supporters to demand:

  1. Measurable reform within the Department of Veterans Affairs
  2. Transparent oversight and accountability
  3. Timely access to healthcare and benefits
  4. Correction of systemic failures that endanger veterans’ lives

Section 3.2 – Focus Discipline

All activities, messaging, and conduct must directly support the mission.

The March shall not be used to advance:

  • Unrelated causes
  • Personal agendas
  • Partisan campaigns
  • Ideological movements unrelated to veterans’ care and accountability

Article IV – Nonpartisan Conduct

Section 4.1 – Nonpartisan Status

The March is nonpartisan.

It shall not:

  • Endorse political parties or candidates
  • Function as a campaign event

Elected officials may participate only as supporters of the mission, not as representatives of a party or campaign.

Article V – Lawful and Peaceful Conduct

Section 5.1 – Peaceful Assembly

All participants must conduct themselves in a peaceful, lawful, and respectful manner.

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Violence or threats
  • Harassment or intimidation
  • Property damage
  • Weapons or illegal substances

Section 5.2 – Compliance

Participants must comply with:

  • Permit conditions
  • Event rules
  • Event Marshals
  • Lawful law-enforcement instructions

Failure to comply may result in removal from the event.

Article VI – Authority and Governance

Section 6.1 – Event Leadership

The March shall be governed by Event Leadership, which retains final authority over:

  • Messaging
  • Scheduling
  • Safety decisions
  • Event suspension or termination

Section 6.2 – Event Marshals

Event Marshals are designated volunteers authorized to:

  • Maintain safety and order
  • Provide instructions for compliance and crowd flow
  • De-escalate conflicts
  • Remove disruptive individuals when necessary

Marshal authority is limited to safety, order, and mission integrity.

Article VII – Media and Messaging

Section 7.1 – Unified Message

Public messaging shall remain:

  • Veteran-centered
  • Fact-based
  • Focused on reform, accountability, and care

Section 7.2 – Media Representation

Only designated spokespersons may speak on behalf of the March.

Participants may speak personally but may not claim to represent the March unless authorized.

Article VIII – Funds and Resources

Section 8.1 – Use of Funds

Any funds collected for the March shall be used solely for:

  • Permits
  • Logistics
  • Safety
  • Communications
  • Necessary operational costs

No funds may be used for personal benefit.

Section 8.2 – No Tax-Exempt Representation

The March does not claim tax-exempt status. Contributions are not tax-deductible unless explicitly stated by a separate entity.

Article IX – Duration and Dissolution

Section 9.1 – Duration

These by-laws take effect upon adoption and expire upon completion of the event and immediate wrap-up activities.

Section 9.2 – Remaining Resources

Any remaining resources shall be returned, or applied to mission-aligned veteran advocacy, as determined by Event Leadership.
